- Counting, Adding & Subtracting with Forest Animals: We spent the week practicing adding and subtracting with forest animals. At the beginning of the week, we introduced the new Work Place 4B Foxes & Dens, where the players toss 2 dice - one numbered 0 to 5 and one with dots from 1 to 6. After rolling, the player adds up the numbers from both dice and moves forward on the game board. The other game we played was the Forest Game, which is being sent home as homework today. This was a fun way to practice adding and subtracting. Finally, at the end of the week, we introduced Work Place 4C Beat You to Twenty.
- Gardening with Ms. Christina means everyone gets to explore the garden and discover what new things have been growing. Some were brave and even tasted the long green beans! One of the tomato plants has so many little tomatoes growing. There's spinach, sweet potato, some parsley and of course, basil galore! While snipping some of the basil, a grasshopper was also sighted. We really appreciate the time Ms. Christina takes to teach us about different things in the garden.
- Our Gingerbread children are so cute! Everyone had to trace and cut and decorate their little gingerbread children any way they chose to. They could use paint, but there were also lots of other little things they could glue on to make theirs look extra special.
- Chomp Saw fun - Kindergarten received a 'Chomp Saw' and used it for the first time. This neat tool helped us cut out cardboard Christmas trees like pros. Some commented that it wasn't as easy as it looked, but that it was fun. It took a bit to get the hang of lining up the saw with the line they were cutting, but they all did a really good job with it. The resulting trees were then painted and decorated with glitter - what else?!
